Look at that quilting! It would have taken me two years, not two days to acheive that, but this is exactly what this top needed. I had asked for feathers in the border and setting triangles, treating them as one unit, and something swirly in the rest. The design we had settled on didn't work so Liz chose something else she thought matched the effect I was trying to acheive, and she chose perfectly!
You can see I still need to trim it and bind it, but I couldn't wait to share.
Off I go to finish other things, things that have deadlines, so that I can then trim and bind this so I can use it!
That is GREAT quilting. I loved it before and even more now. It's gorgeous! ;^)
ReplyDeleteOMG, that quilting is lovely! I can see why you happy-danced over that. It really goes quite nicely with the pieced pattern. Huzzah. I'm glad you're happy with it.
ReplyDeleteWow! The quilting sure kicked it up several notches! It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I'm happy to drop my quilts off to the long armer. She did beautiful work on your quilt. Such a gorgeous design and I even think the yellow has settled a bit. Not so much the focus. A lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you love it! The quilting really brought it to life!
ReplyDeleteHappy Dance indeed. What amazing quilting and it has certainly 'made' this quilt. It obviously has the approval of one four legged baby!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! There is a magic that happens when a quilt top is quilted and becomes a quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what quilting can do for a quilt! It was lovely before but it is gorgeous now! Great job Joanne. 2 days of sewing for me starting tomorrow =) Guess what I will be working on? It's blue and white.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this quilt before it was quilted and now. . . yes, definitely kicked it up to spectacular! Liz knocked it out of the park!
ReplyDeleteAnd yellow is Rosie's color, she looks just too darn cute on it! :)
Beautiful! And I see someone else approves, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt and quilting
ReplyDeleteThe quilting turned a really pretty quilt top into a gorgeous quilt! I'm happy to hear you now love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty you have there! And the white bed and blue walls are the perfect setting! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful--so summery and fresh! Your quilter did a wonderful job--love what she did in the setting triangles!
ReplyDeleteWowza! When I commented earlier that I hoped the longarmer did the quilt justice I had NO idea it would turn out like this. It's amazing, it's even more beautiful...the quilting really sets off the piecing. I'd be doing a happy dance too if this were mine. Have you thought about writing a pattern for the quilt? Hint....hint....
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Your quilter really knows her stuff!!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! The quilting is perfect and it looks like someone else approves as well.
ReplyDeleteOoof! This sure did turn out all kinds of sunshiney lovely! I can't imagine letting someone else quilt a quilt of mine, so I can totally appreciate how you felt, but seeing this--you must be pretty ecstatic. Rosie sure loves it.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting does add a lot to your beautiful quilt. Looks so good in your room.
ReplyDeleteThe quilting made this quilt soft and cuddly, perfect to sleep under, I sure would be happy to sleep under such a beautiful quilt!
